How convenient are European city centres to the Christmas Market?

The most famous Christmas markets include Strasbourg and Berlin. We're always on the look out for more unusual places to visit, so below we have included Vilnius in Lithuania, Chatsworth House in England, Graz in Austria and Copenhagen in Denmark.

Why not combine a trip to your favourite Christmas market with your winter skiing trip?

The stylish capital city of Copenhagen with its lakes and royal palaces is the perfect backdrop to a fairytale Christmas market, and a place to soak up culture, too.

Each year Copenhagen offers a selection of Christmas markets around the city, from the traditional Julemarked on Højbro Plads, to the fairytale Hans Christian Andersen Christmas Market at Nytorv. There are chic Christmas decorations all around the city, with extra special displays of twinkling Christmas lights at the Tivoli Gardens.

Don’t miss the massive ice rink at the Frederiksberg Runddel, or skate in Tivoli Gardens or at Broens Ice Rink.

2. Bridgerton-style elegance at Chatsworth House, UK

  • Book your flights with LunaJets early, as this only takes place from 5th-23rd November!

Fans of the scandalous yet stunning hit Netflix period drama, Bridgerton should head straight to the north of England, take in the delightful rolling hills around Derbyshire (also known as the Peak District) and alight at the market of the jaw-droppingly gorgeous Chatsworth House, a stately home and country estate that is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.

2022 Nordic theme to the market

Entrance to the Christmas market is free - in 2022 the theme is Nordic Christmas - and visitors will discover 100 pretty stalls and vendors, selling beautiful handicrafts, luxury items and stocking fillers. However, we recommend making the most of your time and purchasing a ticket for the historic house, extensive gardens and farmyard (booking ahead is strongly advised).
