LunaJets sponsors Alan Roura’s sailing adventures for the next three years!
With LunaJets, you will have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of Alan’s boat as it flies above the water thanks to its cutting edge new foils!
LunaJets supports and shares Alan’s quest for perfection along with his passion for speed, travel, and fine engineering. Which is also why we have been sponsoring an Easy to Fly named Luna since 2017, an innovative 26-feet foiling multihull and brainchild of renown skipper, Jean-Pierre Dick. Fully sponsored by LunaJets, Luna was the first Easy to Fly to cross the finish line in the 2018 edition of the Bol d’Or Mirabeau, the globe’s most spectacular inland lake regatta.
All aboard Alan’s dream
24-year-old Swiss sailor Alan Roura was rocketed by the waves since he was two. He lived on Lake Geneva with his family and inherited the passion for the sea from his father. He spent his teenage years on Atlantic and Pacific waters, and his adolescence sailing around the world and restoring his first owned boat until he could race with it. Hooked on sailing races ever since the Mini Transat in 2013, he completed the world’s most challenging and adventurous sailing competitions from the Route du Rhum in 2014 to Transat Jacques Vabre in 2017. He was also the Vendée Globe’s youngest sailor in 2015.
In the coming years, Alan Roura and his emblematic IMOCA boat, an 18.28-meter-long racing monohull named La Fabrique, will be racing relentlessly.
November 2018 - Route du Rhum
The Route du Rhum is a solo transatlantic yacht race happening every 4 years. Sailing enthusiasts from all over the world follow the colourful exploits of undaunted seamen like Alan Roura, sailing across the Atlantic for 3500 miles from Saint Malo, Brittany to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe.
November 2019 - Transat Jacques Vabre
This transoceanic racecourse follows the historic coffee trading route from the northern to the southern hemisphere. La Fabrique will leave from Le Havre, France’s leading port for foreign trade and finish 4350 miles later, in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.
November 2020 - Vendée Globe
Nicknamed the “Everest of the Seas”, the Vendée Globe is the toughest and most famous yacht race in the world. Competitors sail around the globe non-stop, facing the ocean alone and without assistance. La Fabrique will set sail from Les Sables d’Olonne, in France, and sail around three famed capes to come back where they started: Cape of Good Hope, Cape Leeuwin and Cape Horn. The record time to finish this merciless race is 78 days. Considered a major international sporting event, the Vendée Globe attracts numerous sailing followers every 4 years.
To witness these spectacular races, you can charter a private jet to Pointe-à-Pitre le Raizet, Salvador International Airport or Les Sables D’Olonne (Talmont) Airport.
LunaJets can also fly you to coastline destinations along these magnificent routes, arrange airport transfers and helicopter flights allowing you to observe the races from above.
